This last week has been a difficult one for the world, as we have witnessed the invasion of Ukraine by military forces of the Russian Federation. With it comes unnecessary violence, terror and death which could, God forbid, get much worse in the coming weeks.
The stories we hear and the images we see out of Eastern Europe are disturbing, and it can be hard to fully understand what is happening half a world away. We often feel helpless in situations like these, when we see such an obvious example of injustice happening in real time.
Tonight, at Pipe, we will talk about the violence and war from the Christian perspective. What can we take from the scriptures to broaden our understanding of violence and war? What can the words and ministry of Christ teach us about how we should approach the subject?
As Christians, we must pray for the 43 million Ukrainians who are made in the image of God. We pray for the captives and the captors. We pray for peace in Eastern Europe.
See you tonight!
