Tonight, Matt, Gerry and I had a quick discussion of this week’s Gospel reading from John. We talked about the significance of the feeding of the 5,000 and how sometimes a small offering can a have big impact.
Gerry made a great point about how we often do not feel empowered to do great things in service to God because we’ve convinced ourselves we don’t have much to offer. As we learn in this story, this is simply not the case. We all have something to offer.
“God always takes (the gifts) you have and can multiply them, so that they have a much bigger impact.”
